Great Location
By user-5904757... on 2017-10-23.
The location to both St. Louis and the Cahokia mounds is ideal. The park is a bit tight and close together. But the staff was friendly and the bathrooms were large and clean.

Ok for overnight

Park is clean. Sites level. Owners very nice. A lot of long term campers there, maybe workers? Traffic noise is bothersome sometimes. Good bbq restaurant on site.

Great Little Park
By user-6640488... on 2017-10-23.
We have stayed here on multiple occasions. Every time was great. The office staff is helpful. The bathrooms were clean every time we stayed. We're going to stay there again this month! Plus, it's the closest campground to St Louis. You can't go wrong.

Great Park

A very good park. Lisa, in the office, was always nice and helpful. A review on 6/23/15 accused office of not putting money back into park; the office staff does not own the park. The 6/23 review also complains about having holes put in his sewer line by weedeater ... the office has a sign that says to support your line off the ground or hardline it because of weedeater. We supported our line and never had any problem. Another review 5/26/15 talk about the sewer smell. We saw a septic truck twice during our stay working on sewer. Cahokia had an abundance of rain while we were there and it caused the trouble. The staff works hard to make this a top notch park. My husband told me that the men's bathroom was trashed every night because of the men that used it didn't clean up after themselves. Lisa cleans the bathrooms from top to bottom every day. I don't envy her job one bit. All in all this is a good park. We felt safe and never had any problem the two months we were there. If we ever go back to the St Louis area we will return to this park.

Not for us...
By user-5844205... on 2017-10-23.
After driving all day arrived and was told the 50 amp site reserved should not have been reserved, and all they had was a 30 amp. This is despite me verifying the reservation a week prior.
We began calling other area campgrounds, when 15 min later the staff came out to us in the parking lot and said they managed to "finagle" a back in 50 amp site. We said ok and paid. After hooking up, the "main breaker" flipped twice in a span of 30 minutes.
We decided to head on down the road to another campground 50 minutes away. The staff was friendly and provided a refund without question. That's about the only positive. Campground is next to an excessively noisy road with a horrible smell permeating the campground, even the front office smelled like a nasty black tank.
The proximity to the Arch was not enough to persuade us to stay. I would avoid this place unless I had no other alternative.

Passing through, stayed the night
By user-5283243... on 2017-10-23.
The campground is a little packed, small areas for each campsite. It was still nice for overnight stop. They have a patio slab and picnic table at each site. The playground was great for our three year old. Also, we were too tired to cook so we grabbed to-do from the BBQ restaurant. It was yummy and priced well. Unfortunately, the restaurant closes at 8. We didn't try out the pool, but it looks clean. Overall this was a nice canpground. Our only con is how many people that are packed into the place on top of each other.
By user-6240532... on 2017-10-23.
Not a good RV park. Maintenance man ran over my mat with the lawnmower and tried to hide the evidence. He also was not careful when weeding and put holes in my sewer line. The office is ran by individuals with no business sense. So money is not put back into the park. Too expensive for what you get. Office people are rude.

Meh...Okay for 1 night

Stayed 2017-06-22 to 2017-06-23
Came in after hours about 9pm for just the night and directions to our site were where we expected them to be. Unfortunately someone was in our campsite so we chose another that did not have sewer. We couldn't tell until we parked because there is no lighting past the office. The water in the back is still and a huge mosquito pond. Used our fire extinguisher when another camper had a fire and the office does not sell them to replace ours. That would be a handy item to have for sale. Packed and a bit noisy but fine for the night.

Great location to tour area and St Louis
By user-4792127... on 2018-07-06.
Stayed 2018-05-21 to 2018-05-24
This park has a good location to several sites. Cahokia Mounds is a World Heritage site which is about 25 mins away. St. Louis Arch is 12 mins. Tour the city and brewery. The park is not fancy. We had a site with some shade. There is a playground for kids, a pool, laundry, small store. WIFI was consistently good. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Sawmill BBQ sits out front on major hwy. Oh, and the trains are running late but not a problem.

Friendly staff, decent spots. We didnt use any amenities but it seemed like they had a lot. The restaurant looked cool but closed at 8. Close to STL attractions.

Tight

Stayed 2018-09-06 to 2018-09-10
Very tight. Double sites. One side 50 other 30. Had hard rain all night. Flooded campground. Muddy. But not camp grounds fault. You have to unhook toad. Sites too short. Have to park on road. Wifi.ok at best. Says pool but pool closed for season. Something about. Insurance. 45 a night with good sam. Ok for overnights we stayed 4 nights. Meet friends in town. And weather stunk. If you want expensive overnight its ok.

Not a great area.
By user-5881840... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2018-09-26 to 2018-09-28
Spaces are very tight. Busy campground compared to others we have stayed at. Probably due to proximity to downtown St. Louis. Business|industrial area. Interior roads wide but could use some help. Water connections are in ground and can be hard to reach. Not a lot of choices in St. Louis. This park is convenient to most attractions which is a big plus.

The Park was very disappointing! Two-thirds of the Park were rentals so not much to choose from. It was muddy and a lot of water. The maintenance of the park was non-existent. Would not stay again.

Very disappointing
By user-5583937... on 2019-08-09.
This park is need of some serious work. Water ever where, I know the weather is responsible for that. Prices are way to high for a very wet site! When was the last time AAA did a walk through?

Wonderful staff and Park.
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
The staff here is so very helpful, very nice people. The bathrooms are spotless. I've read some of the other reviews and what the other people fail to say is that the river has been flooding for the past 2 months and that can not be controlled by the park. They do an excellent job. We have been here since the first of April and will be here until August. The pool is clean and relaxing. Nice playground as well.

Diamond in the rough
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
Cahokia rv park is a diamond in the rough. The staff is amazing and really goes the extra mile to accommodate. Our children enjoyed the pool and play ground. There is laundry on site and the bathrooms are clean.
