I checking out tomorrow and can say without a doubt this the best Campground anywhere around Charleston. The ownership and staff are super friendly and I would not hesitate for a second to come back. The park is quiet and peaceful,a little road noise daytime but is quite at night and the management policies are what keeps it that way. I read the other reviews before coming, and now I understand. This Campground is for people that are polite, and respectful towards their fellow campers. That is what made it such a joy. All of my neighbors were wonderful. The park is around 40 acres, so there is plenty of room to spend time outside without feeling like your right on top of your neighbors. Note wifi works very good.

Worst camp host I have encountered any where in America and it starts at the top by the owner. Swimming pool is away from the camping area by a busy highway. The water is terrible not fit to drink. My little Yorkie was treated like they thought he was an attack 100 pound pit bull. They have a real ant infestation problem and don't seem to be the least concerned about helping control the problem they just blame it on the rain washing away their efforts. Charleston really needs a new updated campground .

Very nice campground. Very strict on the 10 mph ! They will hunt you down if you go even 12 mph. Apparently a child was hit so I can understand their concern. 10 mph means just that!! I would stay there again.

One of my favorite parks we have stayed in. Sites are very wide with grass and pea gravel. Very large, quiet park. Bucolic country feel yet a quick 20 minute drive to Charleston. Traffic on Savannah Highway can make it difficult to cross, and often backs up from intersection with Main Road to campground entry. Definitely will return.

The park is huge. Extra Large sites.
Surprised that the laundry room had only 4 W/D for over 200 sites. TRAFFIC is an issue whether entering or leaving the park. Savannah highway/ 17 is complete grid lock. Nice park tho.

We were in charleston with 17 motor homes in our club about a month before the Hurricane. Did not see an ant. Office personnel was great. No person riding on a golf cart to patrol speed. We were in back. The campground could use more concrete pads instead of grass as it rained half the time we were their. All in all A very good experience and will go back this year.

Stayed four nights monday through Friday very clean well maintained. They are strict on ten mph speed. Had a pull trough not very wide. I thought a little pricey for pea gravel. Close to Charleston easy access to historical sites.

Very nice, clean RV park. Our level, FHU, pull-thru site was a combination of grass/gravel.
Not all sites have shade, but ours had limited shade. Others have a woodsy feel. Easy, friendly check-in. Close to grocery/pharmacy,food, etc. and about 10 miles or so from Charleston. Beware that HWY 17/Savannah Hwy is a traffic nightmare..the whole area is congested. Plenty of cable channels. WiFi went from strong to weak depending on time of day. Used my own at times. Good Verizon service. We would stay here again.

Great weekend

Came to Charleston for a wedding, found Oak Plantation which was 10 Minutes from the venue. Nice sites, ours was pea gravel and level with shrubs separating the sites. Saw some nice concrete slabs and plenty of shade. The staff was very nice and not hounding everyone over the 10 mph speed limit like all the negative post on this site. Had no ant problems either. I recommend this place for everyone traveling to Charleston, SC.

No issues. Stayed 2 nights early spring 2017. Everyone pleasant. Walmart close by. Had a photo job with the National Guard Association downtown with no traffic issues. We use WAZE for navigation.

I just checked out and can say without a doubt this the best Campground anywhere around Charleston. I stayes for over a month, so I got to see plenty of busy weekends, and the quieter times as well. The ownership and staff are super friendly and I would not hesitate for a second to come back. The park is quiet and peaceful, and the management policies are what keeps it that way. I read the other reviews before coming, and now I understand. This Campground is for people that are curteous, polite, and respectful towards their fellow campers. That is what made it such a joy. All of my neighbors were wonderful, and my puppy dog enjoyed all the open space. The park is around 40 acres, so there is plenty of room to spend time outside without feeling like your right on top of your neighbors, or that your walking your dog right through someone else's site.

ANTS!

ANTS! Within 24 hours of arriving, camper was infested with ANTS! I have had the camper 3 years and have been out on 9 trips, east coast areas from Richmond VA to Savannah GA and have NEVER had bug problems......an occasional spider, moth, or fly here and there is to be expected, but never an infestation! Let me also say that I keep very clean! As a rule, all open food (bread, chips, dog food) is in air-tight lock sealed containers! I wash dishes immediately after eating. In fact, they weren't even on/near the food or dishes at all! I had the dog bowl with food on the floor and they never went there...I used it as a tester to try to see where they were coming/going and it never had ants (I wouldn't have let my dog eat it with ants). I took 2 trips to the local Home Depot and spent nearly $75 on ant control products - spray for the inside, barrier spary for the outside, and ant bait traps. I spent half a day on vacation cleanng all the cabinets and drawers out and getting rid of the ants and setting out the bait traps. I put everything from the kitchen in my car or on the kitchen table and left every door/drawer open. That night, came back to the camper after a day out and it seemed to be better! About 36 hours later, I opened the pantry and they were back, worse than before! They were not just in the kitchen area - bedroom, clothes closets, bathroom....everywhere! I was on a concrete pad in the back section. I got on my hands and knees with a mag light and the pad was covered wth thousands of ants. The neighbor saw me doing pest control and he said it's a constant issue (he's a 3-month long term camper there for work). After reading on the Internet, I decided to try Boroc acid. Another trip to Home Depot and another half day of vacation wasted! I poured a border of Boric acid around the entire concret pad, both the ground and the perimeter of the pad. I coated everything that touch the ground - jacks, blocks, chocks, cords, hoses, etc. In all the under-side storage units, I poured a barier of Borric acid at all the openings. I also sprayed the Raid ant barrier (second coat in 48 hours time), and added 8 more bait traps (now a total of 16 bait traps in a 25 foot camper). FINALLY, on the last day of 6 at the campground I statyed to see fewer and fewer ants! The next stop on my trip was to Savannah GA. Just for safe measures, when I arrived in Savannah, the first thing I did before leveling was do a border of Boric acid. Within 12 hours or leaving Oak Plantation in Charleston and getting to the new place in Savannah, the ants were gone! Now, 6 days later still in Savannah.... no signs of ants!!!
When I checked out, they asked about my stay and I mentioned the ants. They acknowledged it was a problem and said they try to spray for pests but admitted it's only reasonably effective because it rains frequently in Charleston and gets washed away!
Good location, close to downtown Charleston and other area attractions, campground is well maintained and clean....just beware of ANTS in your camper!

Large, level pull through sites. Some grass, some gravel, some concrete. Large separation between sites. Very quiet and clean. Easy to get to, right on Hwy 17. Didn't use laundry, pool or rest room. Watch the turn from main campground road to site road, ours was tight going over a ditch. Not a lot of lighting if arriving after dark
We stayed in a 34 foot 5th wheel.

This is a nice park. Many sites are gravel, many are grass. Level and wide sites. Some are in trees, many in open areas. Close to Charleston. Biggest complaint is the traffic going past! It is located on the north side of a very busy E/W highway. It does not matter what time of day, you will sit and wait for a slight break in traffic. In a toad you can make it to the median, then wait another minute for a break to go east. In a coach you need to inch out until cars stop and let you out.

This is a nice campground. Lots of trees, although there are a number of sites that have no trees.
Clean campground, good wifi.
The biggest complaint I have is trying to get out of the campground and turning left to head down to Charleston. It's solid traffic for 1/2 mile back and most of the morons driving on that highway don't have the common sense or decency to leave an opening while they are waiting for their light to turn green, so that you can drive through the mess to get to the opposite side of the road.

This was our first stop on our 2 year adventure. We really liked this park. Could have used a better play area for kids & green pool water is the only reason for 4 instead 5 stars. Level spots, very friendly staff, clean bath houses, good laundry facilities. Our dog LOVED the fenced dog area where she could run leash free. It is hard to pull out especially with the rig, but it's not impossible.

Boasts 221 sites on nearly 45 acres - many of which have full hook ups, but reserving those ahead is best. Lots of beautiful trees, lots of good walking. You can hear all the traffic, but it s on par for the location. We enjoyed our stay and got through the traffic issues fairly well.
