We arrived after driving all day in the rain. Unfortunately, the road was being re-paved right in front of the entrance so it was tricky getting in and out for a few days, but it will be very nice when it's finished. We didn't see any signs to guide us there, and the GPS took us on some wild back roads. I'm finding that it's best to get directions from a Visitor's Center rather than trust the app's directions. We've been led astray several times. The park was quite nice, and the washrooms/laundry looked brand new. It was only $2 to wash or dry. The beach was right across the road and the ocean views were beautiful. It's a good base camp, but be sure to buy groceries in Charlottetown (30 minute drive) since there aren't any stores on the north shore. Cavendish and Rustico are both worth a visit.
Absolutely one of our very favourite campgrounds to camp at, bar none! Beautiful beach to walk on at sunset or sunrise, hear the ocean and wind from your tent without feeling like you are going to fly away. Gorgeous scenery to drive through to go site seeing on the island, close to amazing fresh seafood (including lobster) dinners (try the Fisherman's Warf in North Rustico) and close to Charlottetown for a visit to the touristy harbour front for shopping and concerts on summer evenings. Been back there more then once and will continue to cherish our visits to this campground. The people are amazing as well.
